Today’s Quote: “The chief lesson I have learned in a long life is that the only way to make a man trustworthy is to trust him; and the surest way to make him untrustworthy is to distrust him and show your distrust.” – Henry L. Stimson

Today’s Question: How much trust do you put in others?

My Thoughts: It is impossible to make your way in the world completely on your own. There is no such thing as a truly self-made man. At some point, you’re going to need a hand, and you’re going to need to lend a hand. You’re just going to have to trust those who are offering you help, and trust those who you offer help to. Are you willing to put in the trust?

Today’s Quote: “Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture . . . Do not build up obstacles in your imagination.” – Norman Vincent Peale

Today’s Question: Can a mental picture of success really lead you to succeed?

My Thoughts: If seeing is the key to believing, having he ability to see what doesn’t exist–or at least what does not yet exist–is a gift. A precious gift that could make a difference in how you progress in your life. Luckily, you don’t have to be born with this gift. It just takes a little focus and practice to make this gift you own.

Today’s Quote: “It is difficult to produce a television documentary that is both incisive and probing when every twelve minutes one is interrupted by twelve dancing rabbits singing about toilet paper.” – Rod Serling

Today’s Question: What would it take to eliminate some of the interruptions in your life that keep you off track?

My Thoughts: You may have found yourself over time becoming the champion of managing interruptions. You have found you have acquired a knack for dealing with the not-so-static daily dealings that can throw off your days. Wouldn’t your day go off lot smoother, and possibly even be more productive, if you could eliminate the interruptions? How much more could you get accomplished if you focused your time on neutralizing the interruptions before they could get in your way?

Today’s Quote: “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.” – Sir Winston Churchill

Today’s Question: Will you be the one to write your own history?

My Thoughts: Everyone knows the adage that history is written by the victors. Part of the spoils of war is the winners get to push their agenda, and put into play their vision of the way things are, were, and will be for the near future. Getting the chance to write your own history is based on the notion that you’re a ‘winner’ in the way you are living your life. Will you get the chance to write your own history?

Today’s Quote: “Worry is a misuse of imagination.” – Dan Zadra

Today’s Question: What changes in your life would help relieve you of your worries?

My Thoughts: You probably have more than a full plate to deal with, and the worries may be taking its toll on you. But just like you can see all of your dealing if you take a step back and try to take it in, you can probably see ways to make your life run a little easier with some advance work. What could you possibly do to bring some relief to your worries?

Today’s Quote: “When it’s time to make a decision about a person or problem, trust your intuition (and) act.” – Bud Hadfield

Today’s Question: When faced with a problem or situation, can you ‘trust your gut’ when making a decision?

My Thoughts: Some people don’t know how to work off instinct. Some people don’t know how to progress to the next step when it feels right. It goes beyond living via a checklist. It comes from a not having the confidence to trust oneself without having a safety net.

Someone is quoted as saying, “If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door.” Whomever it was could have used a better publicist, or I might have remembered there name. Who cares what revolutionary product or service you have? You haven’t told them what it is!

THIS WEEK’S TIP: It takes more than superior product to have superior sales and response. You’ve got to tell somebody about it. You’ve got to tell the right people who will tell more of the right people. The world will only beat a path to your door if you tell them what you’ve go . . . and if it is exactly what they want.

Today’s Quote: “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” – Thomas A. Edison

Today’s Question: Do you run from potential opportunities because of the fear of having to take on a heavier workload?

My Thoughts: We all know that when your boss offers you an ‘opportunity to excel,’ it’s code for ‘work you’re not going to get out of.’ Chances are, there really is an opportunity being offered to you, along with a few extra headaches to come as you learn to take on a greater workload. What is more frightening to you: the opportunity or the added workload?

Today’s Quote: “Please give me some good advice in your next letter. I promise not to follow it.” – Edna St. Vincent Millay

Today’s Question: Did you follow other’s advice?

My Thoughts: No, I really did mean to ask did you follow other’s advice. Past tense. This is not a question of whether you take in advice from others and effectively use it. This question is truly meant to make you think back to advice from the past, good or bad, solicited or thrust upon you, and remember what advice you did take or didn’t take. Evaluate why you took some, ignored others, and what the ultimate outcome was. This would affect how you deal with advice you are offered now, and how you accept it.

Today’s Quote: “The only place where success comes before work is a dictionary.” – Vidal Sassoon

Today’s Question: Would you appreciate success any less if it was just handed to you?

My Thoughts: You might be a little suspicious if you were nowhere near winning a race and all the competitors in front of you stopped short of the finish line and allowed you to cross first. The same suspicions should come to the forefront when other wins just come up without much effort given by you. Is the win just as sacred if you didn’t have to work for it?
